Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

The Devil's Advocate is operated by Keiron Dennie, a sole trader based in West Sussex, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By using this website and purchasing our services, you agree to these terms.

2. What We Provide

The Devil's Advocate provides AI-assisted business risk analysis reports designed to help users identify questions, risks, and areas for further investigation. The service is an educational and analytical research aid only. It is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.

3. IMPORTANT — The Nature of Our Reports

We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Reports represent automated analytical opinions generated from user-supplied information and, where applicable, publicly available sources. They should not be interpreted as statements of fact about any individual or organisation. Publicly available data may itself be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.

Reports may contain factual inaccuracies, incomplete information, incorrect assumptions, or conclusions that later prove to be incorrect. You must independently verify all information before relying on any report. No representation or warranty is given regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of any report.

Any decision you make — including any decision to purchase, not purchase, invest in, or walk away from any business — is yours alone, and should be made with the benefit of advice from qualified professionals.

4. Assumption of Risk

By using this service you acknowledge that business and investment decisions involve inherent risk, that businesses may fail for reasons that cannot reasonably be predicted, and that no analysis — automated or otherwise — can identify every risk or guarantee any outcome.

5. No Professional Relationship

Your use of this service does not create an adviser–client, accountant–client, solicitor–client, or fiduciary relationship of any kind between you and us.

6. Payments

7. Refunds

Because our reports are digital products generated and delivered immediately upon purchase, they are exempt from the usual 14-day cooling-off period under UK consumer law once generation has begun, which you acknowledge at the point of purchase. If your report fails to generate due to a technical fault on our side, your one-time purchase credit is not consumed and you may retry; if the fault persists, contact us and we will make it right — either by delivering your report or refunding your payment.

If you believe a report you received was defective (as opposed to containing analytical opinions you disagree with), contact us at hello@devils-advocate.co.uk and we will review it in good faith.

8. Fair Use

Subscription access is for your own genuine use in analysing businesses. We reserve the right to suspend access for accounts engaged in abuse, automated scraping of the service, reselling of reports, or usage patterns clearly inconsistent with individual use.

9. Your Responsibilities

You confirm that information you submit about a business is provided lawfully, and that where you submit information about a business you do not own, you do so for legitimate purposes of evaluation or research.

10. Intellectual Property

Reports generated for you are yours to use for your own purposes. The Devil's Advocate name, branding, website design, and underlying system remain our property.

11. Limitation of Liability

You acknowledge that any financial loss, business loss, investment loss, loss of opportunity, consequential loss, or indirect loss arising from use of this service remains entirely your responsibility.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our maximum aggregate liability to you in connection with the service shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the report giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Devil's Advocate regarding use of the service, and supersede any prior understandings or communications.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
